Programs for Homeschoolers

The Alamogordo Family Recreation Center realizes that many area families are choosing to homeschool their children and we are committed to  offering programs to meet those needs, whether by helping kids get active or learn a skill. 

Homeschool PE Series (Programs will resume in September 2022)

The series will offer a variety of PE/sports topics over the course of the school year, focusing on a different topic each month for 2-3 weeks. Children will learn the basic rules of the games and the skills needed to play while being active and interacting with other children their age! Please bring your child prepared to participate in appropriate athletic attire including closed-toed athletic shoes as well as a water bottle. Parents will be notified at time of registration if other equipment is needed for a specific topic.

Art Lessons for Homeschoolers Series

If you are home schooling and looking to have an artist help teach some art skills, we have the program for you. Come and learn all about a variety of art media in our hands-on art lesson mini-series! Taught by an experienced artist, you will gain an understanding of how different art tools are made and how to use them with numerous techniques so you can go home and create your own masterpieces! Each week we’ll offer a two-part program one session that covers an art media on Tuesday and the other for guided practice of said techniques on Thursday.
