...get a library card

Otero County residents, kindergarten age or older, are eligible to apply for a library card.  (Patrons under the age of 18 require signature of parent or guardian on the registration card.)

Driver's license or other picture ID with current Otero County address is required. (If driver's license is out of state, two other documents displaying local address are required.)

Visit the circulation desk in the library. Bring your photo ID and other documentation, as needed. Once your information has been verified and entered into the system, you will receive your card. This usually takes about 15 minutes. (Please note: Library cards cannot be issued within 15 minutes of closing time.)

Nonresident cards are available for $15.00
Replacement fee for lost cards is $5.25
