Summer Reading Program - “Oceans of Possibilities”

Youth Summer Readers will participate in our long time popular, READO, which is just like Bingo! Kids will complete five tasks in a row, either across, down, or diagonally to win. The 1st READO will win Blue Stone and Pizza 9 coupons; the 2nd READO wins a Book to keep; and the 3rd READO wins an SRP t-shirt, tote, or travel mug; and every READO after that will win some type of small prize. Come by the Children ’s Library for all of the details! The first day to come in and claim prizes is June 7th, the Last Day for prizes is July 23rd.

Family Programs include the ever entertaining Andy Mason in Concert on Friday, June 10th at 10:30am; next, Oceans in Space with Dave Dooling, Education Director of the New Mexico Museum of Space History for a fun discussion of the most precious resource in the solar system: Water! Also, Mud and Water Play Day on Saturday, July 9th from 10:00am til Noon; please dress accordingly, there will be...mud...and water! And last but not least, there will be an End of Summer Luau on Saturday, July 23rd from 10:30 - 11:30am. Join us for games and crafts to end our summer in style! Guess what? Because of the number of participants, anyone attending the Family Programs will need to be registered for the Summer Reading Program. Thank you!

Adult Summer Readers can expect a fun and easy to navigate Book Bingo reading game that will earn all participants an SRP t-shirt (while supplies last.) All in person or online registrants to the Adult Summer Reading Program need to come by the Reference Desk for their initial Sonic Coupon prize just for signing up. The first day to turn in your Book Bingo pages is June 6th, and the Last Day to turn in completed bingo pages is July 30th. Come by the Reference Desk or check out our online Summer Reading webpage for all of the details! Thank you so much to all our local sponsors who help make the SRP great, and join us this summer from the beginning of June through the end of July for a summer of ocean themed books, programs and more!
