In partnership with the Community, the City Commission, and the City Organization.

Our Mission

To work in unison with the City Commission and City staff to offer continued service to the community with the utmost professionalism, efficiency, and as courteously as possible. We are dedicated to innovative processes and continued preservation of the City's history.

City Commission Support

Attends and records all meetings of the City Commission. Provides research and secretarial support to the City Commission. Responds to inquiries for the Mayor and Commission members, and acts as a key liaison between local government and its citizens.

Legislative Process

Responsible for all municipal legislative processes. This includes:

  • Agenda Preparation
  • Agreements
  • Contracts
  • Legal Advertising
  • Official Minutes of the City Commission
  • Ordinances and Resolutions

Elections Administration

Notifies County Clerk of local government positions to be filled at the next regular local election. Candidates shall file campaign financial disclosure report with the City Clerk.

Codification

Maintains and oversees updates to the Alamogordo Code of Ordinances.

Boards & Committees

Coordinates the establishment and administration of, as well as appointments to, various boards and committees that advise the Commission on many complex issues. Applications for volunteer service on all advisory boards are accepted year-round.

Records Management

Manages the retention and retrieval of all official documents in compliance with the State of New Mexico Records Retention and Disposition Schedule for Municipalities as adopted by the City Commission.

Optical Imaging Retrieval

Have implemented and continue to achieve a document imaging program for electronic records management and retrieval.

Oaths & Filings

Administers oaths, receives and records petitions, claims, lawsuits, and official notices. 

Public Information

Information about participation in all levels of government and communicating with the City Commission is available at our office.
